چکیده
Vibrio vulnificus, parahaemolyticus and harveyi are the causative agents of most severe diseases marine brackish aquaculture systems. These also associated with serious ailments in humans. The present paper unravels virulence features/genes antimicrobial resistance (AMR) phenotypes/genes these spp. isolated from natural disease outbreaks marine/estuarine fishes India for first time. Results on features showed that V. vulnificus infected fish can pose public health risk. Antimicrobial susceptibilities of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio vulnificus isolates from Louisiana Gulf and retail raw oysters.
The antimicrobial susceptibilities of 168 Vibrio parahaemolyticus and 151 Vibrio vulnificus isolates recovered from 82 Louisiana Gulf and retail oysters in 2005 and 2006 were determined. Overall, the two vibrios remained susceptible to the majority of antimicrobials tested; reduced susceptibility was detected only in V. parahaemolyticus for ampicillin (81%; MIC > or = 16 microg/ml). متن کاملAn Overview of Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus
The Vibrionaceae are environmentally ubiquitous to estuarine waters. Two species in particular, V. vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus, are important human pathogens that are transmitted by the consumption of contaminated molluscan shellfish. This document provides a comprehensive review of the current state of knowledge about these important foodborne disease agents. Topics include the epidemio...
متن کاملQuantification of Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio cholerae in French Mediterranean coastal lagoons.
Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio cholerae are human pathogens. Little is known about these Vibrio spp. in the coastal lagoons of France. The purpose of this study was to investigate their incidence in water, shellfish and sediment of three French Mediterranean coastal lagoons using the most probable number-polymerase chain reaction (MPN-PCR). In summer, the total number of ...
متن کاملVibrio vulnificus (lactose-positive vibrio) and Vibrio parahaemolyticus differ in their susceptibilities to human serum.
Eleven Vibrio vulnificus (lactose-positive vibrio) strains were less susceptible to the bactericidal activity of normal human serum or serum treated with magnesium-ethyleneglycol-bis (beta-aminoethyl ether)-N,N'-tetraacetic acid than were six Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains.
متن کاملOyster processing strategies for eliminating Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio vulnificus from New Hampshire oysters
Introduction Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Vp) and Vibrio vulnificus (Vv) are human pathogens commonly associated with bivalve shellfish. These Vibrios cause infections to humans when patients consume raw or undercooked shellfish or when it’s in free-living form in estuarine environments. There are three clinical manifestations of disease caused by Vp and Vv; most common for Vp is gastroenteritis an...
